Country-wide Conference on consolidation, harmonization and streamlining of anticorruption legal framework in BiH
Country-wide Conference on consolidation, harmonization and streamlining of anticorruption legal framework in BiH will be organized by the EU financed Project "Support to the Implementation of Anti-Corruption Strategies in Bosnia and Herzegovina" (Institucionalna podrška antikorupciji – IPAK”), on Friday, November 13th 2020. It will be organized via Zoom platform, starting from 11h.
At the Conference, around 50 participants of four major groups of stakeholders are invited:
- Ministries for Justice (Heads of the legislative departments, 14 participants, from all levels of government in BiH)
- Parliaments at all levels in BiH (Heads of the legislative commissions, 14 participants, from all levels of government in BiH)
- Anticorruption bodies at all levels in BiH (Heads of the AC bodies, 14 participants, from all levels of government in BiH)
- Representatives of major and relevant CSOs active in the fight against corruption as well as relevant media (approximately 20 participants).
Purpose of the Conference is to contribute to consolidation, harmonization and streamlining of AC legal framework at all levels in BiH by introduction of findings and recommendations from the analysis prepared by the Project Team (PT) in this scope. The PT has prepared comprehensive analysis of the needs for consolidation, harmonization and streamlining of AC legal framework which could be used for initiation and improvement of AC legislation. In order to inform relevant stakeholders and to ease the future work on consolidation, harmonization and streamlining of AC legislation, findings and recommendations of the PT will be presented and discussed at country-wide Conference.
The goal of the Conference is to inform relevant stakeholders about need for consolidation, harmonization and streamlining of AC legislation, discuss recommendations, identify possible obstacles in future improvement of the AC legislation and ways to overcome them. The Project Team will closely follow the discussion and, if needed, use them to amend recommendations for consolidation, harmonization and streamlining of AC laws.
Due to the worsening of the situation with the COVID 19 in the BiH, the Conference is organized on-line, using Zoom platform, instead of the physical gathering of the participants as it was originally planned. Despite the different way of organisation, the PT has done its best to organise it as it was planned – in interactive way, to provide possibility for comments and input of the participants regarding the findings and recommendations of the analysis.
Main outcome from the Conference will be the final recommendations for consolidation, harmonization and streamlining of AC legislature for all levels of government in BiH, which will include the input from the discussions at the Conference.
